Thank you, sisters, for honoring me with this bogus award.

10 honest things about me:

1- I don't really enjoy blogging. I only do it for my sister Gretchen. I love you, Gret!

2- I am very practical. Gretchen says it makes me a horrible shopper. I would blame it on that and indecisiveness. Usually, I just can't decide if the purchase is practical or not.

3- I am a homebody, but I love to travel with my family. I want to see the world with Jeff, Sam, and Jenna Kate ... and then come home.

4- I am a sucker for romantic fiction and movies. If we are in the same room together and I am reading a good book (romantic or not), I will ignore you. No offense intended!

5- I am often distracted. I hate this about myself. I usually notice it the most when my son is trying to talk to me about Star Wars.

6- I am an introvert in an introvert's body. That was for you, Lis B!

7- I find evening television to be very relaxing with the exception of watching sports. For some reason, I become distracted when watching sports.

8- I wish I could write like Jane Austen or Elisabeth Prentiss or C.S. Lewis. I wish I could write stories like Anne of Green Gables or write funny things. Since I can't, I have a secret desire to be an editor. But, it might have to be a textbook or something ...

9- I want to live in a home that my husband designs and builds, but I want him to do it fast so I don't have to wait very long.

10- I have more than I deserve - my cup overfloweth. That's right, I have a cup.

Okay, sisters, I have written 10 honest things about myself. But you didn't really expect me to nominate 7 others, did you?

Oatland Island in Savannah, GA

I had the distinct pleasure of taking Sam, JK, Jack and Wils to Oatland Island last week. We had so much fun!

The wolves were Sam's favorite exhibit. They were amazing, and our view of them was incredible!

This was a pretty picture of the farm animals section.

Not so pretty picture of Sam's reaction to the farm animal smells!

JK and I were hiking partners when the boys ran ahead.

They loved the gators ... I loved LEAVING the gators. Yuck!

First Day of School & More...

Isobel just turned 1 this month! She is sitting and getting up on her hands and knees!
On the steps of IPC for JK's 1st day of school and their first day together - 2nd grade and Kindergarten.

Me looking at the 800 square foot house with Jeff - any guesses on what is going through my mind? Ha, ha. This photo taken by one of our children.

JK wears new birthday dress!

Marcia, it is absolutely adorable. I forgot to take a photo with the sweater off (man!). Thank you again. It was a great birthday gift for JK, and I think she will be able to wear it again next summer without the T-shirt.

Sam flips his own pancakes!

Sam was so excited that I let him flip his own pancakes. I taught him to watch for the bubbles just like you taught me, Mom! Don't worry - I only stepped back to take a picture. Otherwise, I was hovering! He is getting big, though - grew 3/4 of an inch in 1 month this summer.

The Beautician Came to my Office!

One day when I was working at the table in the loft, JK announced that she was going to do my hair. Yay! Above, you can see that she has everything that she will need on her person. Below, you can see that she is working in her dress-up clothes. She has her own sense of style and enjoys pairing things that obviously do not go together.

Stopped in Starke on the way home.

This is Lake Sante Fe - serenity!
The log cabin.

On the front porch - Mama, Meg's grandmother (pronounced Jam-ma), and Jeff.

Aunt Anne and Mama with the kids.

JK and her daddy!

At the end of the dock.

A few photos from our trip to Baton Rouge...

This is Jeff's cousin Mark, his wife Monique and their youngest child Jon Parker. They invited us to spend the night with them at their lake house in LA. We had a great time!
This is the end of their pier - it is covered, and the view from all the swings is, of course, of the lake - Lake Bruin.

Ferris Wheel at the Dixie Landings Amusement Park - 2 minutes in the car from Bobby and Pam's house. We loved going at night!

Charlie's initial reaction was priceless - this photo is pretty good, too. He loved the rides!

Jenna Kate went on the swings with Pam and me. She liked it.

We enjoyed Bobby and Pam's pool all week long - Sam became good at water dunkin'.

And, it is a little out of order, but here is a photo of JK and Grandad in line for the bumper cars.

Jenna Kate has turned 5!

Jenna Kate had 3 celebrations for her 5th birthday. The above photo is of the 3rd party ... at Grandad and Mimmy's house the night we arrived (July 11). The photos below are of party number 2, at our house, the night before leaving (July 10), with a few close friends and Savannah family. The 1st "party" was a little play date with girls her age who came over to, well play, and have cake and ice cream. I really wanted to show ya'll the cake that Tricia made, but Jeff already moved those photos to our personal laptop, and I cannot easily access them at this minute. (My Michigan photos are on that laptop as well.)

Meg is due on Labor Day (seriously) - holding Isobel.

Marcia!

Went to the beach on Saturday ...

Again, keeping the words to just a few to save time. This was our second trip out to Tybee so far this year. It was a perfect day. We went to the North end where the waves were doing crazy things because of where the river meets the ocean. Across is Little Tybee, I believe. There was a lot to look at, as you can see from the pictures.
